FAQ

Common questions about working together.

Here are a few helpful answers about practice logistics, care, and how I approach treatment.

What types of concerns do you work with?

I work with adults 18 years or older navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, bipolar disorder, ADHD, substance use/dual diagnosis, grief, and other relational issues. I especially love working with young professionals, BIPOC folks, and those navigating issues of gender and sexuality.

Do you offer medication management and therapy?

Yes. I offer both medication management and psychotherapy, and I can help determine which combination feels most supportive for your needs.

Are you accepting new patients?

At this time, I am not accepting new patient intakes. The waitlist will reopen in November 2027.

Do you work with patients outside California?

I offer telehealth services to patients in California and Wisconsin. I will provide part-time in-person services in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Do you take insurance?

I operate as an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance directly. Payment is due at the time of service. However, I am happy to provide you with a monthly superbill (an itemized medical receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

How often are follow-up visits?

All follow-ups will be scheduled for 45 minutes. After establishing a treatment plan that feels effective and sustainable, medication management follow-up visits are usually spaced every 1–3 months. For those pursuing psychotherapy, weekly sessions often provide the consistency and depth needed for meaningful change.

How can I communicate between appointments?

You can use the secure patient portal to send non-urgent messages, request appointments, access records, and receive test results. The portal is encrypted to help protect your health information. For privacy reasons, please use the portal rather than email or text whenever possible, as these methods are not fully secure and cannot guarantee confidentiality. If you choose to share sensitive information outside of the patient portal, you do so with the understanding that these methods cannot guarantee confidentiality.

How will my information be kept confidential?

Your privacy is an essential part of your care. I follow strict ethical and legal standards to protect your information, including using secure electronic records and encrypted communication methods. There are limited situations where confidentiality may need to be broken, such as when there is an imminent risk of harm to you or others, concerns about abuse or neglect, or when required by law. Whenever possible, I will discuss these situations with you and approach them with care and transparency.

What if I am having a psychiatric emergency?

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or are concerned about your immediate safety, call 988, 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. Most hospitals have emergency psychiatric services available. Email and text messages should not be used for urgent or emergency matters, as they are not monitored continuously.
